Andy Garcia, Drums

Andy was born in Havana, Cuba. From the early age of four, Andy was influenced by many musicians in the Cuban music scene as his mother was a ballerina with the Cuban National Ballet. At age five, Andy started taking private lessons and picked it up very naturally. Although Andy has learned many other instruments, drums remain his first love.

He attended Paulita Consepsion school of music and Amadeo Roldan music conservatory in Cuba. He and his mother relocated to Miami, Florida, but not before playing drums with one of the biggest names in Jazz in Cuba and worldwide, Arturo Sandoval. He attended high school in Miami and learned English very quickly. He was exposed to R&B, Pop and Rock in more detail and was able to flavor those styles with much of his personal touch and widely influenced style. With over a decade of experience as a professional musician and instructor, Andy Garcia has performed for audiences worldwide.

As a professional musician and instructor,  Andy has performed with such artists as Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin, Jon Secada, Santana, Amy Grant and others.  He also has performed in such Broadway Musicals as Bye Bye Birdie and State Fair.  Andy has performed with various Assemblies of God Youth Camps and currently plays with The Freedom Center Praise and Worship Band.
